Turn your schedule into a reviewed Program Log

Choose the broadcast dates and scheduled Clock blocks, generate a preview, then review and save it. Use Program Logs to validate the result and choose when Main should receive it.

Schedule-Based GenerationReview Before DeliveryMain Controls Playback

Prepare the library, Clocks and Schedule

Open Generator in TeoCast Workstation after preparing the station’s source material and programming plan. Keep Main running and maintain your authorized Workstation connection.

  • Import the music and station content needed by the scheduled Clocks, and check source availability, metadata and durations.
  • Create and save the Clock content and Rules that will guide music selection.
  • Assign active Clock blocks to the required dates and times in Schedule.
  • Save or discard outstanding Schedule and Clock edits before generating.
  • If using Traffic, check the campaign dates, booked spots and relevant break slots for the broadcast dates.
Start with the schedule: Generator uses the selected dates and scheduled Clock content. An empty or invalid schedule must be corrected; do not assume that unrelated music or advertising settings will supply a replacement plan. See TeoCast Workstation for the Libraries, Rules, Clocks, Traffic and Schedule workflow.

Configure Generator

Use the GENERATION SETTINGS panel to select the broadcast period and content. A preset stores generator choices; it does not deliver a Program Log to Main.

1

Select the Date Range

Choose From and To dates. The end date must not be earlier than the start date. Use one date for a single day or a range for several broadcast days.

2

Check Schedule Plan (by date)

The applicable plan is selected from the dates. Date-range templates override the default weekly schedule. Review the selected plan instead of treating it as a free choice unrelated to the date.

3

Choose Generate clock / block

Select Full Schedule (all clocks) or one active scheduled Clock block for the selected date range. A single-block result covers that block’s actual broadcast window.

4

Review the content options

Check Include Music, Include Commercial, Include Station ID, Include Sweeper, Include Time Announcement, Fill Missing Slots, Respect Rules and Include Traffic against the intended programme. These choices work with the authored Clocks and eligible source material.

Reusable settings: Use Save Preset or Duplicate Preset for settings you want to use again. Review the Date Range and active Schedule before each run.

Generate and review

The result is a preparation preview. Generating it does not by itself replace the waiting queue or interrupt the current on-air track.

1

Select Generate Playlist

Allow TeoCast to prepare the result from the selected dates, Schedule and Clocks. Read the status if generation stops because settings, source material or shared station data need attention.

2

Review timing, content and warnings

Check the generated item order, times, durations and content mix. Open Review Warnings for the issues behind the warning count. Confirm that intended commercials, station elements and Traffic bookings are present.

3

Make supported music-order adjustments

In the list preview, movable Music rows can be dragged within the same uninterrupted music run. Fixed Clock items stay in place. Review the revised timing and save the result after editing.

4

Regenerate when the source plan changes

After a preview exists, the action reads Regenerate Playlist. It prefers alternative music while preserving the Clock events; the available library and Rules still determine the choices. Review the new result again.

Resolve blocking issues: Missing or unavailable source audio, invalid fixed-item durations and other blocking validation findings prevent delivery. Non-blocking warnings still need review and may require an explicit confirmation before validation or sending. A Time Announcement marker can legitimately have zero duration.

Save, schedule or send

Choose the action that matches your intent. A saved preview, an armed future log and a log confirmed as loaded by Main are different states.

1

Save Program Log

On Generator, select Save Program Log to save the result to the station database. Open Program Logs and check its status. Depending on review state, it can be saved as Draft or Validated; this save action does not directly replace Main’s queue.

2

Validate the saved log

Select the log in Program Logs and use Validate Log when required. Correct blocking issues first. Read and explicitly accept any remaining non-blocking warnings before proceeding.

3

Choose future loading or delivery now

Use Schedule Auto-load to arm the validated log for its broadcast window, or Send to Main Player to request delivery now. Read the confirmation and check the resulting status; Awaiting Main is not confirmation that the queue has loaded.

Scheduled loading: Main must be running with Auto Mode selected for automatic loading. In Manual Mode, a log remains armed until Auto Mode is selected within its broadcast window. Main preserves the current on-air track when replacing the waiting queue. Review any late-start catch-up confirmation carefully; earlier items may be recorded as skipped. Use Disarm to cancel an armed log’s automatic loading.

Playlist Manager: GENERATE MUSIC

The separate Playlist Manager Review & Send workflow uses GENERATE MUSIC for its Program Clock result. It changes to a regeneration action after a result exists. This is a different screen from Generator’s Generate Playlist.

Playlist Manager: SAVE & SCHEDULE

SAVE & SCHEDULE opens the scheduling choices for the reviewed playlist. Choose future occurrences using its Single Date or Date Range options. Resolve blocking issues and review warnings first. Date-specific Traffic bookings cannot simply be reused on a different broadcast date.

Playlist Manager: SEND TO PLAYLIST QUEUE

SEND TO PLAYLIST QUEUE requests replacement of the waiting Main Playlist Queue with the reviewed result. It does not interrupt the currently playing track. Check the confirmation and Main’s acknowledgement before treating the result as delivered.

Export a copy

Export offers CSV Program Log, Text Program Log, M3U Playlist and Hourly Summary output. An exported file does not save, arm or deliver a Program Log to Main. M3U audio paths may refer to Main’s locations.

Automatic operation: Enable Program Log Automation is a separate Workstation setting that can generate, validate and arm eligible logs automatically. Check that setting and the saved log’s current state when planning manual work. See the Workstation guide for the complete scheduling and delivery workflow.

Check the result before air

Review the final saved revision and its intended delivery action.

  • The dates, Schedule Plan, Clock/block scope and broadcast window are correct.
  • Required source files are available and item timings fit the intended programme.
  • Music selections and repetitions suit the station; fixed Clock items and booked Traffic remain appropriate.
  • Blocking issues are resolved and non-blocking warnings have been reviewed.
  • The intended state is confirmed: saved, validated, armed for automatic loading, or acknowledged as loaded by Main.
  • Main’s current and upcoming items are correct after an immediate queue replacement.

Common Generator problems

No result or missing scheduled content

Check the Date Range, active Schedule Plan and assigned Clock blocks. Save or discard outstanding Clock/Schedule edits. Read the status for inactive Clocks, empty authored content or missing sources before generating again.

Too few eligible tracks

Check the library sources used by the assigned Clock and the Rules that restrict selection. Add suitable available tracks or review the relevant Rule settings. Inspect the warning details rather than only the item count.

Unexpected commercials or missing Traffic

Confirm the selected broadcast dates, Include Commercial/Include Traffic choices, campaign eligibility and break slots. Generate for each target date so date-specific bookings can be applied correctly.

Save, validation or sending is blocked

Resolve the specific source, duration, Traffic or shared-data issue displayed. Keep Main reachable and restore Workstation authorization if access is paused. Refresh and review the saved log after another operator changes it.

The log is armed but has not loaded

Check Main, Auto Mode, the broadcast window and the Program Log status. A saved or armed log is not evidence of delivery. Review any late-start or expired-window message before choosing the next action.

A send is still awaiting Main

Restore Main and its connection, then check the request status. Do not repeatedly resend the same log while delivery is pending; the send control may remain unavailable until the existing request completes.
